New website launch and easing of the lockdown rules in the UK

Wednesday 13th May marks the launch of the new Bermuda Forwarders (UK) website and a slight easing of the lockdown rules by the UK government. Up to two people from the same household are now allowed unlimited daily exercising in public parks and beaches provided they don’t meet up with more than one friend or family member and keep 2 metres apart.

The Bermuda Forwarders (UK) team continue to combine home, office, and warehouse working to maximum effect to ensure that grocery stores, retailers and other businesses are kept fully stocked and supplied with available UK products.

Container services for both FCL and LCL shipments, organised by Bermuda Forwarders (UK) in conjunction with BEST Shipping in Bermuda, continue to operate in the “new normal” thanks to all those companies and businesses in the supply chain which includes shipping lines from the UK and the weekly sailing provided by BCL and its crew members on the “Oleander.”

The BA flights from London are unfortunately still not operating and in spite of direct communication with the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office it was not possible to make any additional arrangements for the inclusion of the Bermuda Forwarders customers’ air freight on two recent charter flights. Hopefully there may be the opportunity to uplift air freight from the UK in the coming weeks if more cargo charter flights are planned by the UK and Bermuda governments.

Happy browsing. Stay safe and stay alert!
